           Merit Scholarship

 

 

                        It is brought to your kind notice that the institute is conducting two diploma courses (Hotel Management and Computer Engg.) since last one session. There is a provision for merit scholarship as other polytechnic for those students who secured more than 50% marks in the previous exams in which they had appeared. Rules and condition fir the grant of merit scholarship for the students of Diploma courses for polytechnics level in Haryana State are as under:

  1. The Haryana Govt. has formulated a scholarship scheme for the award of merit scholarship to deserving students studying in Govt. Polytechnics and Govt. Aided Polytechnic in Haryana as communicated vide its letter no. 52TE/81-95/Accounts of dated 11-01-2008.
  2. 15% of the students of the total sanctioned admission capacity or actual intake, whichever is less, of the polytechnics will be awarded merit scholarship @ Rs. 500/- per month which will be valid for one semester.
  3. The grant of scholarship will depend upon the satisfactory progress and conduct of the students. If it is observed by the Principal of the Polytechnic at any time, that the scholar has been guilty of misconduct such as resorting to or participation in strike, irregular in attendance etc.etc. The Principal may either cancel the scholarship or stop.
  4. If a student is found to have obtained a scholarship by false statements, his/her scholarship will also be cancelled forthwith and the amount of the scholarship paid shall be recovered.
  5. No scholar can hold, at a time more than one scholarship. In case he/she is awarded more than one scholarship, he/she shall have option to accept any one of them.
  6. The scholarship shall lapse if the scholar dies or if he ceases to attend the institution at which the scholarship was awarded.
  7. A certificate in the following form, signed by the Principal or Drawing and Disbursing officer authorized by him shall be recorded on all bills of scholarship: “I hereby certify that the scholar on whose account the above amount has been drawn has been regular in attendance and have confirmed to the rules under which the scholarship is tenable.”
  8. Any scholarship which falls vacant due to one reason or another will be awarded to the next eligible candidates.
  9. In the event of any doubt, existing out of the interpretation of the rules, the decision of the Principal Shall be final.
  10. In case the candidates having equal marks, the poorest shall get precedence over the other.
  11. Stamped receipts should be obtained from the students at the time of making payment.
  12. The Principal shall constitute a committee for the award of the scholarship consisting of 1. Principal (Chairman) 2. One Head of Department (Member) 3. One Lect. (Member) 4. Dy. Suptt. (Member).
  13. As regard the merit, only those students who have passed the qualifying examination in one attempt, and have secured at least 50% marks are eligible.
  14. In the case of first semester students, on the basis of admission merit and in the subsequent semester, on the basis of the result of previous semester.
